Sam Pitzulo Homes was one of the first 50 builders & remodelers to recieve this certification in 2002. The program is sponsered by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and requires attending special classes to design accessible rooms. In 2010 Sam Pitzulo Homes is still the only builder in the Mahoning Valley to hold this certification.
Including the ramp as part of the design disguises the fact a handicap or elderly person lives here. Aestetically less invasive than after-the-fact ramps & lifts tacked to the front of a dwelling.
For an owner confined to a special motorized chair. To give them accessibility to their entire home we accomodated for the dimensions of the chair and developed a barried free plan with extra wide doorways and hallways.
The track system allows a caregiver to move a person very easily while their weight is supported from above.
We can also add foldaway shower seats & custom tub inserts to meet the needs of any individual.
This user didn't want to give up their whirlpool tub, so we added grab bars, planning for the future, making it semi-accessible.
These units can be installed on any interior or exterior door. They can be programed for voice recognition & activation, proximity sensors, and/or set on timers. With all the added accessibility, they can still be operated by a traditional door knob or lever.
This user needed caregiver assistance for bathing. A specially desinged bathroom was incorporated into the bedroom.
The two axis track system allows caregivers to move a special needs person anywhere in the bedroom/ bath area.
This lift allows caregivers to move the person in and out of the tub with no effort or strain. This unit recharges itself when not in use, has great capacity and battery life. Portable units are available so one lift motor can be used to support & move a person anywhere in their home.
Caregivers can assist a person in this tub without strain on their backs or knees.
We can add grab bars, special sinks, commodes, and custom cabinetry to accomodate the needs of any client.
If helping a person to and from a vehicle takes more time we can add a heater for the winter months.
Also notice the lower wall cabinets. A user in a wheel chair can use a grabber to gain access to anything in the cabinets
